Nupur Arts was established 16 years ago in Leicester by Smita Vadnerkar. Through a great deal of dedication, the organisation has grown from strength to strength over the past years, and is now one of the leading dance organistaions in the East Midlands. Nupur Arts is commited to provide training and performing opportunites to all dance members and works with adults and young people of all abilities. Nupur Arts are known for excellence in performance standards, and have a well established reputation in providing high quality dance classes and workshops.

Members who have trained under Smita Vadnerkar for up to 9 years are now part of a well established youth group. The group perform to a very high quality standard in Bharat Natyam, Bollywood, Folk and Creative dance and have been part of many prestigious performances, including:

As part of the youth group, members also become involved in many aspects of performing arts including teaching; production management and dance administration. Nupur Arts also provides opportunities for members to work with a number of different professional dance artists in order to upgrade their skills and learn from a professional perspective. The youth group have also undergone exams in Bharat Natyam, and were the first to enter the ISTD Bharat Natyam examinations from Leicester.
