NUPUR
ARTS PRESENTS
BEYOND THE FIVE SENSES
A South Asian Contemporary Dance production exploring
the experience, strength and imagination pertained through
the loss of one of the human senses. Posing questions
of what it is to dance without one of the five senses,
and what may be beyond these five senses, the dance work
looks at experimenting with new conventions and movement
ideas. The production will present innovative work from
young British Asians that reflect the contemporary age
in which they live and operate.
Choreography
by Chitraleka Bolar and Jade Yeow
Directed by Smita Vadnerkar

The
Trick of the Crow. This production will bring to
you a powerful adaptation of stories from the "Panchtantra,"
a collection of old stories full of wisdom and morals
dating from nearly twenty two centuries ago. Stories
from the Panchtantra reflect the importance of
high moral values coupled with worldly wisdom, teaching
people about trust, loyalty, friendship, intelligence
and wit, with the use of animal characters of the forest.
This
project also involves bringing a diverse community together
through workshops, storytelling and of course community
performances, all leading up to final theatre productions.
Through these old fables of India, all people of the
community, young and old can learn how to tell stories
through dance, introducing them to another form of expression.
This scheme will also help promote fitness through dance
within the community.
Nupur
Arts want to spread the fun and goodness of dance and
these stories, to all people of the multicultural society,
and aim to bring different cultures to together. To
do this, we are available for workshops in dance and
storytelling in and around Leicestershire, and would
also like to give people a preview of the final show.
A
powerful South Asian Dance production based on moral
fables from The Panchatantra. A performance punctuated
with exquisite dance, colour and music
